Cookies, analytics and remarketing

Modern online shopping technology uses cookies to improve the efficiency and convenience of your shopping experience. Enabling cookie support on your browser strengthens the communication between you and this site, ensures that it is you who is making transactions on your behalf, and helps to keep your personal information secure. If cookies are disabled on your browser you can still look around the site, but you must enable cookies in order to access your account information or to use the shopping cart and purchase online.

Cookies are very small text files that your browser stores on your computer, recording information you gave us so you will not have to remember it each time you visit Easyink. Cookies record your site preferences and keep track of your order. They do not give us access to your computer or any other personal information about you other than the data you knowingly provide. They will not harm your computer and they cannot be read by a third party.

In line with modern ecommerce practice we use technologies (such as cookies and pixels) to understand and optimise user experience, to improve our advertising both on and outside our websites (including but not limited to Google Remarketing, and Facebook Remarketing), to provide social media features, to understand and optimise user experience, and to analyse traffic to the site. We also may share information about your use of our site with our trusted social media, advertising and analytics partners who perform services on our behalf.

Google Analytics has been widely adopted as an accepted interactive measurement standard. Our public website pages are coded with a small piece of Google Analytics code that is transparent to you when you read that page. These pieces of code store cookies in your browser (if you have cookies enabled). Google Analytics helps us measure traffic patterns to, from, and within our website. The services are used to anonymously aggregate website statistics, such as number of page views, the number of unique visitors, time spent on our site, when visitors browse, and common entry and exit points into and from the website. This information is collected and aggregated by Google Analytics to help us better understand usage of our website. Third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites on the Internet and use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to websites.

For further information about Google Analytics click here, and for details of Google's Privacy Policy click here. You can opt out of Google's use of cookies by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

The Facebook Conversion Tracking Pixel service allows us to follow the actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. We are thus able to record the efficacy of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes. The collected data remains anonymous. This means that we cannot see the personal data of any individual user. However, the collected data is saved and processed by Facebook. Facebook is able to connect the data with your Facebook account and use the data for their own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Use Policy. Facebook Conversion Tracking also allows Facebook and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside Facebook. In addition, a cookie will be saved on your computer for these purposes. You can opt out of Facebook retargeting if you prefer. You can opt out of Google's use of cookies for advertising, including DoubleClick cookies, by visiting Google's Ads Settings page.

Secure on-line purchasing - keeping your credit card and personal information safe

We have no way of seeing your credit card number when you shop with us. When you enter your credit card details you are typing them directly into our payment gateway's server using I-Frame technology. Your credit card details are encrypted before they leave your computer. With real-time transaction processing through Transactor, the payment is transferred electronically between your bank and ours and the credit card number is stored only in encrypted form and not on our website.

All data passed between your computer and our web server is encrypted to modern standards and uses the https protocol. In order to generate an SSL link, a web server requires an SSL Certificate - a critical aspect in building trust and guaranteeing that the site is safe to do business with. This assures online visitors that confidential information and transactions cannot be viewed, intercepted or altered. Even if hackers or another third-party could somehow see the credit card and personal data you enter, it would be a stream of meaningless rubbish. Your personal information is not decrypted until it reaches the secure server where it is isolated behind a firewall - inaccessible from the Internet.

When your browser connects to the Easyink secure pages it retrieves the SSL Certificate and checks that it has not expired, that it has been issued by a Certification Authority the browser trusts, and that it is being used by the website for which it has been issued. If it failed on any one of these checks the browser would display a warning to you.

Fraudulent orders

Unfortunately there are people who place fraudulent orders via the internet using stolen or bogus credit card numbers, in conjunction with web-based free email accounts which are difficult to trace. Easyink aims to give the best possible service to honest users, so we're aggressive when it comes to preventing and following up on fraud. Alongside each order we record the IP address of the computer and the domain name from which the internet was accessed.

We reserve the right to exchange information with other companies or organisations (for the purpose of protection from fraud and credit risks), and to reverse any transaction where we're uncomfortable about the information supplied.

Spam and unwanted email

We use email to communicate with our customers but we don't want to annoy anyone. If you no longer wish to receive product information or other emails from us, please let us know so we can make sure you are removed from future mailings. Our emails are intended to be beneficial to our users and only for those who want to receive them.

If at any time you have concerns about security and confidentiality related to this site, or about our use of your personal information, please contact us on 0800 893 797 or support {at} easyink.co.nz or use the Contact Us page.

We're here to help, and if you have any questions at all please contact us.
